It’s no secret our boys are different. Barney is all about reaction. He is a people person from head to toe and if we ever get all that energy channeled, he’ll make a great salesman. In his world, no just means, keep trying in a new way.

Dubya, our first born is steady and predictable. “A good American…” is what his great Aunt calls him. He is responsible, thoughtful, and extremely creative. He came home from preschool one day he said “Every American should have a flag and a Bible.” To illustrate all this, here’s a picture of W on his first day of kindergarten.

W's first day.

Here’s a picture of Barney, right beside him…uuum relieving himself…as the school bus was driving in to pick up W. Nice!

If we sent Barney to his room, he would just cry. W would celebrate!

W is now nine, and wants to go to K-State to be an engineer when he graduates from high school. He made me get on the Internet and see if K-State had a good program. (This is something Ben would do.) Barney and I don’t really have a clue what we want to be when we grow up, or if we really even want to.

Barney said, “Hey, W, how about you build something and I’ll sell it for you…”

“SHUT-UP, Barney!”

W has hundreds of dollars worth of Legos. He simply spends most of his money on them. Ben told me when we started having boys…”just remember, you can never have enough guns, knives or ammo.” Apparently Legos fall into that category. W disappears for hours at a time, then commandeers my camera and take pictures of his inventions.

I can’t find the picture of the still, or the reenactment of butchering chickens…I’ll keep looking. In the mean time, answer this question…W asked, “Is Lego building a sport?”

I told him, no, then yes. Then I mentioned maybe entering his creations in the county fair.

He said, “I better go practice…”

That was a week ago, I haven’t seen him since.

Is Lego building a sport? I would like to think so. I would like to think family building is a sport too. Do you have a building sport?

Simply,

Sis

Yup…….sure is a sport, at least when you have little boys around!! Our son made a Valentine’s Day box out of legos. Pretty good guess that we have WAY to many of them!! Let just say that the box looked much better when it left our house that morning than when returning that afternoon. Now its on to build something else.

Keep the great words of wisdom rolling!!

Thank you my friend. Glad your guy finds his imagination’s feet through the magic of a Lego.
    Many Blessings.
