Cabinet

I made a discovery…

A curious discovery.

I was somewhere between victory and defeat while redoing the kitchen cabinets, and found this nail.

Nail.

But it’s just a nail, with a few splashes of paint.

On the nail, I found a key.

But, not just any key…

This key.

Key

I didn’t know what it was the key to…

Maybe a secret treasure buried in the back yard?

Maybe not.

Maybe the old wash house.

Maybe not.

I thought about it for a while longer…and finally figured it out.

Then, I put it back, to hang for another 100 years.

Along with something else.

Key and Note.

Someday, when I’m long gone, another wife will find it, and she’ll realize she holds the key to…

a very precious treasure.

Simply,

Sandhill Sis

How sweet. Sure wish I felt that way about where I live.

Awww darn! I wish you felt that way too.

About this place, it’s weird, this is the oldest, most nondescript, and in need of care place we’ve ever lived, but we really like it. I don’t get it.

That doesn’t stop me from looking for our next place…I think you said it best when you said, “I think I could move every spring.”

I’ve always thought that very insightful and TRUE for a lot of people. Love, Sis

Oh, the possibilities…. The key to what? I’m not good about such things. I must know. We must research, explore and solve the mystery!
Actually, the mystery may be better unsolved. The key might have opened the outhouse.

The outhouse. I love it. That’s funny right there.

It’s a key to the good life, I’m sure of it.

Don’t let me blow the mystique, but it looks like the kind of thing that comes with something that has to be put together. I can’t think of what right now, but I’ve seen that kind of thing before with a “no tools required for assembly” item, since they’re basically giving you a screwdriver.
Still, I like your idea of it being a key to the good life better!

I love the idea of moving every spring! Maybe once the kids are off and running! Something about starting over…….Greg and I have a motto…..”It’ll be nice when it’s done”!!! But for some reason we never get “Done”!! Have a great day!!

I am thinking of re-doing my kitchen cabinets too. Is it too awful tricky? I would love to see pics of your new paint job!! By the way, I just love your blog!!
