(Thanks to BlogHer Pic App for this photo)

The 8/28 Restoring Honor rally brought well over 300,000 people from around the world to Washington D. C. to well–restore honor. (Some people are puzzled by all of this and have mistakenly call it a political rally. It’s been a long time–maybe never since honor was synonymous with politicians. I think our founding fathers were true leaders, andwould have been highly offended to be called politicians.) The rally focused on faith, hope and charity encouraging people to become their best self. The idea being the person who are their best self–can govern themselves just as the founding fathers had hoped.

The above picture was not taken from another website, it was sent to me by my friend, Marlin. Marlin had made the hard choice to give up his tickets to the 8/28– restoring honor rally on The Mall in Washington, D.C., to the guy who took his family and took this picture. The man who took this picture got to The Mall early on the morning of the rally– 7:30 a.m. and this was as close as he could get to the stage. This was as close as he could get because there were too many ‘God fearin’ neighborly folks’ in the way. A great day for America.

(another thanks to BlogHer Pic App for this photo)

More of this is just what Washington needs–a bunch of God fearin’ neighborly folks in the way. Wouldn’t it be cool if there were so many God fearin’ neighborly folks in Washington that the politicians would be voted out and leave the running of the this country to God fearing neighborly folks. Just so we’re clear, the United States Constitution calls God fearin’ neighborly folks– We the people. To be even more clear … that is us–me and you.

We are in an age in America where we are losing freedoms daily to power-hungry politicians who thinking we are too dumb to govern ourselves. I think this rally is evidence that there are plenty of great, God fearin’ neighborly folk in America who love their country and aren’t ready for a handful of pompous, power-grabbing politicians to take our freedoms. Take heart and know, Neighbors, we’ve got them surrounded and ONE person can make a difference–your vote counts. Keep up the great work, America.

Simply,

Sis

I had an interesting conversation with a beautiful and creative young lady the other day. She had grown up in this area, in a rural community, with good family values and a strong work ethic. After attending an artsy design college she landed a job in New York City on Fifth Avenue designing store fronts, a job she enjoyed for three or four years before moving back to the Midwest. Her part of the design process was taking an idea from sketch to reality.

I had to giggle at this and ask, “Did you ever have to change the plan to fit reality?”

She admitted, the plans changed daily, from paper to store front and said, “I would look at the plans, and then say to the designer. ‘Alright, now this is how it’s gonna go down.’ ”

It reminded me of when my brother was alive and building grain handling systems. He used to talk of educated idiots with grand schemes and ideas who didn’t know anything of the real world. They were shiny, though, when it came to engineering degrees and pomp and circumstance. He recalled a story of one day when he told the engineers ‘how it was gonna go down’ and they were standing around scratching their heads, pounding on their calculators and finally admitting, “It just can’t be done.”

To which my brother retorted, “Put your calculators away, Boys. Sometimes you just gotta get your hands dirty.”

To say the least, he wasn’t very popular with the suited engineers, especially after he built it the way he designed it to make it function better in the real world.

I said all that to say this. It reminds me of our President, his czars, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and others. It’s not necessarily just Democrats, there are plenty Republican idiots too. Many have degrees and accolades that take up walls and walls but lack common sense. They spend hours in their offices, pounding on computers, building their perfect world but know nothing of the real world. They look good, smell good, can rally crowds, and have no dirt under their fingernails.

Maybe that’s the problem, no dirt under their fingernails. Somewhere along the way we’ve traded the value of a good work ethic and common sense, for degrees and initials after our name. And even worse, rewarded laziness with free food and health care. Is that what America is about? I don’t think so. America was built by hard working forward thinkers, some highly educated, some not. Don’t get me wrong, there is much importance in education. When combined with hard work and real world experience, it’s unstoppable.

Some of the finest folks in America got their start by scooping poop to dig the foundation for a great thing. It’s those folks that can tell you want your building your plans on…sand or rock. Yes, they have dirt under their fingernails and smell funny when they get home with their meager paycheck. But, they shouldn’t be discounted. They have pride and knowledge, pay taxes and vote. They are We the People. I am one of them. We are the ones that have great real world ideas. We go on to build small business, employ other good people and make this country America.

Mr. President, Congress, House of Representatives, Governors: Instead of surrounding yourself with more Ivy League educated idiots with crazy ideas. Take off your smoking jackets, put your peace pipes and brandy down, quit talking philosiphy and get out in the real world. Embrace the working and tax paying American people by LISTENING. Now is the time to make hay while the sun shines. If you want to build something functional, sometimes you just gotta get your hands dirty.

Simply,

So I was making naked tomatoes and canning salsa yesterday and was puzzled by my bell peppers. Look at this one, off of the same plant.

He is different shape and color than it other, but he is still a bell pepper. He is just having an identity crisis. He is exploring what life might be like as a chili pepper or jalapeno.

According to, Erik Erikson, an “expert”, An identity crisis is when an individual loses a sense of personal sameness and historical continuity.

It reminds me of our elected officials. Yes, even you, Mr. President. You all are going through an identity crisis of what role you play in American government. Let me explain. I’ll keep it simple. I like simple.

We the people are the government. YOU, elected folks, are OUR puppets. Not the other way around. If our elected peppers puppets have an identity crisis and ‘corruptly explore’ what like is like to be a socialist, fascist, or communist puppets, (kind like my peppers) you won’t make the cut for the salsa next time. In other words. You will be voted out. We the people will vote in a moral having Constitution loving puppet.

Big government and identity crisis don’t go around here. Savy?

Americans, let’s unite based on our principles and values, not on some party.

Simply,

Sis

Our friends from the depot asked Ben to come play his banjo with Don for background noise ambience while Debbie’s pastel art was viewed. (I’ll write more on that later. Debbie and her art deserve a post all to themselves.)

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for positive propaganda. (Unlike the the kind the government uses to further their agenda. Like Obamacare, the government take-overs of the auto industry, and turning other freedoms into socialism or fascism… But hey, I’ll save all my comments about how our socialist President of the United States has surrounded himself with Czars and advisors who are admitted communists and/or radicals, who don’t have to answer to We the people, for another post.)

In my wheat field we use propaganda to further our agenda to send our kids to college. With statements like… College is fun. Education is important. Pursue your passions. You can do anything. Being a college student rocks. I’m putting money into your college fund, so you can get follow your dream of becoming an engineer. Your first project can be our retirement home.

When we drove onto campus the kids where saying things like. “This is so cool. It’s huge. Where are the dorms? Where do they eat? Can I come here? I can hardly wait.” That was just the tip of the iceberg.

While the art exhibit was going on, the kids got a little bored. We decided to explore by roaming the halls, handling huge hissing cockroaches from Madagascar, checking out pro wrestling books in the bookstore, and having funny pictures taken in crazy hats. The kids where in hog heaven. Some of the college kids even tried to recruit them to play rugby, wrestle, swim, etc… “I can’t believe they want ME to play.” *giggle giggle*

Deputy Barney felt famous when a student asked to have his picture taken with him. “Am I famous, Mom?”

“You are to me, Bud! College makes you famous.”

Feeling famous, we stopped at Famous Dave’s BBQ for supper, something we hardly ever do. With their pockets stuffed full of free stuff, the kids thought they had the best day ever.

Propaganda: bad when the United States government uses it on We The People, good when parents use it to promote education.

Simply,

If you can’t tell, I love guns. I have a thing for snipers, you can read about it here. I grew up with them. In fact, I have ditched the pursuit of fine perfumes for a little Hoppes No. 9 cleaning solvent right behind the ear. Besides Wranglers by the bed, is a turn on to Ben.

I have a few guns of my own. Ben bought my first shotgun while I was on my back in the hospital with early contractions when I was pregnant with W. I was trying to breath through the contractions while trying to listened to his sales pitch…

“It’s brand new….on clearance…half the price of a new one…”

He left me at the hospital to go buy it…and that was okay with me. It’s a fine gun.

I name all my guns sexy, manly names like Samson (one of my big pistols) or Elvis, a flashy six shooter. I haven’t looked up their skirts, but I’m sure their guys. I would never hold a woman that way. Ben name’s his guns too. From sexy to silly, they all have a girls names. I call them his harem. The other woman in his life seems to understand too and doesn’t say much.

It’s just easier to say, “Honey, grap Shamacka, quick! There’s a opossum on the porch…” Instead of…”Honey grab my .22 pistol…” That would just leave me confused on which one. See, around here it’s all about simplifying.

I married a guy who loves guns (and banjos). He studies both. I love this t-shirt he found. It’s so him.

We’ve gone to bed with a Guns and Ammo every night for almost 15 years now. In the process, I’ve learned a few things. I haven’t memorized the ballistic trajectory charts (how the bullet travels over distance) or learned the technical nomenclature of all their parts. But, I can talk intelligently different guns and shoot almost any basic gun lying around.

We are raising our kids to respect guns too. When they are old enough, they will have to take the hunters safety course just like ever other shooter has to. We go to church as a family, play as a family, go fishing as a family and hunt as a family, just like our families before us. Everyone needs a passion, right? Dub-ya is a great shot and Deputy Barney’s skills are coming along. Of course, like everything else in raising kids, it has it’s days. It’s all about using the teachable moments, isn’t it? Talking to your kids about guns, money, sex, and drugs is real life stuff they have to learn.

So where does that leave me on gun control? I’m all for it. I think you should always know what direction your gun is pointed and how far the bullet will go when you pull the trigger.

Seriously, my stance on gun control is probably just to the right of Teddy Roosevelt’s. Teddy Roosevelt said, “unbridled government leads to corruption…” Our forefathers wrote the second amendment, the right to bear arms, to control an out of control government. “A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. …” Is how it reads.

I think all law-abiding, noncriminal, hard working, tax paying U. S. Citizens should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon if they want to. (That narrows the field quite a bit, doesn’t it?) Law enforcement officers have to treat everyone like they are packing heat, anyway. Let’s arm the good guys.

Here’s just one of many reasons why. This lady lost both parents to an insane gun-toting maniac in a Luby’s Cafeteria in Texas.

Teddy Roosevelt also said, “Speak softly, but carry a big stick.”

I believe I will. Only, mine will be stick that throws a lot of lead.

Bully, good ol’ chap. Bully good.

Sandhill Sis

If you agree with this post and aren’t a National Rifle Association (NRA) member. It doesn’t cost much, and they need all the help they can get battling this gun control issue.

I got this email this week, entitled, “Born Again American”, with a link that took me to a website with this video. Have you seen it?

The song is played and sung by many different and talented people across America. It seems very ‘founding fathers’ patriotic…

Keep listening.

It goes from a patriotic …’my country tis of thee…’ to this CAT smelling a RATT.

I just got one of those gut feelings that whispered something’s not right. (The same gut feeling I should have listened to before I went flying the other day.) Anyway…

The more I listened, the more I thought, I bet whoever is behind this is a flaming liberal. A liberal who supports the BIG spending, even BIGGER government, and probably even loves the socialist living in MY White House.

Turns out, I wasn’t far off. This is another Kum-by-ya moment, brought to you by Norman Lear, a very liberal democrat, who has given thousands to support Obama and friends. Lovely!

Norman Lear and friends, want to get some far right conservative support by doing a bait and switch, cloak and dagger move. They do this by, taking something good, like I don’t know, maybe the truth and twist it. Twisting ever so slightly, then run it through the ‘make it look more like a conservative and Christian machine” and this song/movement is what you get on the other side. I’m telling you be wary, my friends, be very very wary.

Before you sign up to support this, without knowing who is behind the scenes, do some homework. It really only takes a few seconds on Google to uncover this is nothing more than a big fat WOLF in sheep’s clothing.

If you watched this video and wanted to support this idea, and are now crying because there must be no like-minded people out there. Hold on. There is hope, Patriot!

Wanna learn more? Check out Glenn Beck’s 9-12 Project http://912projecttest.com/. This isn’t the liberal left. It’s true Americans: democrats, republicans, independents and otherwise, coming together on what America, We the people, really stands for. FREEDOM!

Now that, is worth committing to.

Don’t forget we have a date on April 1st.

Let’s Unite!

Sandhill Sis, Patriot

Being raised with two older brothers, I was hardly fuss and feathers. Rough and Tumble maybe, but not fuss and feathers. I only remember having one tea party. It only took a couple of minutes for me to get disgusted with how little juice you can fit into those dinky tea sets. So I would typically, slam every one’s juice head straight for the garden hose. I like results, and garden hoses give results.

Only 30 short years later, in this time of bailouts, stimulus packages, and country leaders than REFUSE TO LISTEN to “We the People”, it’s time for another tea party. Some like minded friends sent me an invitation and asked me to invite some friends. This time I’m not inviting my dolls or stuffed animals. This party will be little more sophisticated. I’m inviting citizens of this great country that are fed up with BIG government, an unfair taxation system, nationalized banks and socialist programs that reward laziness. If you are tired of this ’Peter Pan– Kum Ba Ya’ mentality that has taken Washington by storm, please join me and millions of others as we come together to make our voices heard. I’m inviting YOU!

It’s real simple, and you know me, I like simple.

WHEN: April 1st Why April 1st? Because it’s close to TAX TIME…Boston Tea Party…Taxes…ISN’T THIS GREAT? I love it!

WHERE: Starting in your mailbox and spreading to Washington, D.C.

HOW: Put one tea bag in an envelope. Address the envelope to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20500, slap a stamp on it and mail it. Repeat as many times as you want to.

This tea party isn’t all sugar cubes and milk. There is a lot at stake, folks. Our precious freedoms than have been bought and paid for with the blood true Americans, are at stake. This is a cheap, easy way to make a difference. Let’s stop sitting on our hands and join together and do this.

By the way…I chose to send GREEN tea, since that’s their favorite color now days. Besides, I’ve heard green TEA goes great with PORK.

Please join me.

Sis

I used to have a general rule about candy intake: pace yourself. I have abandon this theory, and have adopted the: eat it all and barely survive the natural consequences that comes with 24 hours of constant sugar intake theory.

It happened last night. Ben woke me up from a great dream to say we had a puker. He is a sympathetic puker, so I made my way to the bathroom, where our oldest was heaving.

Do you suppose it’s from all the sugar?

“Yes! (heave) I’ll never eat candy again! (heave) It was stupid! (heave)”

Poor guy, I hate it when the kids are sick.

Through all this I couldn’t help but think of the “heroes of change” in Washington. What kind of change, who knows, it seems they are fast eaters, not fast readers. These socialist *Sis gagging*are cramming this PORKY candy down “We the people’s” throat, indebtting the next couple of generations, for the sake of ‘we must act quickly’.

Our fore fathers, rich capitalist, forward thinkers, hated government! They made it small and slow moving on purpose. To keep some smooth talking, power greedy socialist from coming in overnight and CHANGEing the small government they were setting up. How long will it take for a society in a PORK induced coma, to wake up and vomit out these socialist power mongers? Maybe never. Why be an over-achiever if laziness is rewarded by a welfare check that is on time? Because mediocrity isn’t okay, that’s why.

But, I’m only one person. Yup! One person of grand design, hopefully a backbone and a good gag reflex. What would happen if we started syncrinizing our purge? How about emailing (in sync) the people in Washington that are SUPPOSED TO BE REPRESENTING US? Or not voting for that good-ole-boy who has been in Washington forever. Hey, I know, let’s take back the country for We (you and me) the people. Or we can just sit with our head in the toilet, accepting the hangover and the natural consequences that will come when you get drunk on socialist pork and make the empty promise of “That was stupid. I’ll never do that again.”

What are you going to do?

Simply Purging,

Sis (The recovering bulimic, who sometimes forgets to purge.)

PS. This is what I’m doing: Becoming an intelligent thinker http://www.hermancain.com/hitm.asp

Some days I can’t hear anything for all panic about the sky falling, the world coming to an end, and rumors of the second great depression. Gloom, doom darkness and despair. Woe is me.

I’m a little tired DARN tired of the panic and ‘chicken little’ syndrome that is ensues around me. It seems intelligent thinking is not hip, cool or even present. One day soon a modern day archaeologist will dig it up and say, “Dude! I was digging you know, dude and whoa and I was like whoa dude…what is it you know, dude?”

It’s common sense, dude, or horse sense, as we call it around here.

I’m afraid it’s in short supply in this generation. Failing banks have caused some to walk around like some heroin junky bangn’ on their arm in anticipation of their next hit saying, “Just one more credit card, I promise I’ll pay it off. (bang bang bang) A second mortgage then. I’ll sign away my kids college and retirement…(bang bang bang) I’ve really need that sports car, new house and bling…and 30% interest sounds great (bang bang bang) This stimulus package must pass or my business will fail waaaaaaa (bang bang bang).”

It reminds me of when I was in college and called home begging my foks for a some money. Mom said, “If you can’t learn to live on $600 per month. How are you going to learn to live on $6,000? So, what’s the weather like out there…” Needless to say, I didn’t get a bailout that day. Instead, I had to put my head down and get to work. Now days the government would cry abuse.

Twenty years and a few hard knocks later…we live a simple but rich life on one income. I’m glad they chose tough love over rushing to my aid, enabling me to be lazy. Entitlement is for socialist sissies, breeding lazy generations that call home for bailouts. Hard times build character and horse sense. Thomas Edison said it this way, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

Horse sense tells us to live below our means, no matter what you make. No matter if your a family, business or government. That may mean tough choices: beans instead of PORK for dinner. Personally, I’ll take my pride and common sense with a side of beans. When things turn around…BEEF, it’s what’s for dinner. PORK is for broke people and bailouts.

Simply,

Sis

Here’s an intelligent thinker I like to follow… http://www.hermancain.com/hitm.asp

P.S. (One more quote from our dear old Eddy. Then it’s time to get to work. ) Be courageous. I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has emerged from these stronger and more prosperous. Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward! Thomas Edison
